Strategically located in Lumut, Belait District (the industrial district of Brunei Darussalam), the School of Science and Engineering (SSE) Politeknik Brunei offers a variety of industry-focused modules in the science and engineering field under 8 distinct programmes: Diploma in Architecture, Diploma in Interior Design, Diploma in Electrical and Electronics Engineering, Diploma in Telecommunications and System Engineering, Diploma in Mechanical Engineering, Diploma in Civil Engineering, Diploma in Petroleum Engineering and Diploma in Science Technology. 1) LEVEL 5 Diploma in Electrical and Electronics Engineering

2) LEVEL 5 Diploma in Civil Engineering
This programme is designed to produce successful graduates with skills and broad knowledge to perform a wider range of roles at Higher Technician level in areas of Civil Engineering. Successful graduates should be able to:

3) LEVEL 5 DIPLOMA IN MECHANICAL ENGINEERING
Mechanical Engineering is one of the highly demanded programmes among the industry. It is also a programme based on industrial standards for Level 5 Diploma. Students will undertake practical workshops, experiments, tutorials, assignments, exams and a final year project based on industrial demands.
During the subsequent semesters, students are provided with in-depth knowledge on this programme. This includes, but is not limited to Solid Mechanics, Thermofluids, Engineering Drawing and Material Properties. On top of that, this programme delivers hands-on and laboratory skills such as machining and welding workshops. In the final 6 months of study (on campus), students will be given the choice between Design (Mechanical Engineering Design/Computer Aided Drafting and Design) or Maintenance options (Maintenance Engineering/Air Conditioning Plant). Each module option provides unique perks and a broad spectrum of specialisation.

Diploma in Petroleum Engineering is a programme offered by Politeknik Brunei to students seeking a career in the Oil and Gas Industry. The programme has been jointly developed by Politeknik Brunei and subject matter experts from Brunei Shell Petroleum Sdn. Bhd. and other main companies operating in Brunei.

6) LEVEL 5 DIPLOMA IN SCIENCE TECHNOLOGY (CHEMICAL LABORATORY TECHNOLOGY)
Guided by the counsel and specifications from the key industry people themselves, this programme is customized for students who need the requisite skills and knowledge in Science, specifically in chemical laboratory, which is highly in demand in the industry in Brunei Darussalam. Specialised modules offered include Green Chemistry, Food Chemistry, Medicinal Chemistry and Industrial Chemistry.

8) LEVEL 5 DIPLOMA IN INTERIOR DESIGN
This programme aims to develop an enhanced and rigorous understanding of concerns which impacts design thinking, realisation and implementation, whilst promoting an ethos associated with fostering individual, personal signatures. It is intended that students in this course will actively pursue a holistic approach that questions the concept of ‘the meaning of Interior Design’ from both a philosophical and practical perspective.
