Brunei Darussalam Delegates Head To Singapore For The 13th Brunei-Singapore Student Leaders Adventure Camp (BSAC) 2019

Monday, 2 December 2019 - The Brunei-Singapore Student Leaders Adventure Camp (BSAC) 2019, now on its 13th year will be hosted by the Ministry of Education Singapore from 2 to 6 December 2019, with the main camp site located at the Dairy Farm Outdoor Adventure Learning Centre, Singapore. This programme is the collaboration between the Ministry of Education Brunei Darussalam and Ministry of Education Singapore.

Through communal experiences and activities involving adventure and cross-cultural sharing, the camp aims to mould future leaders for both Brunei Darussalam and Singapore to promote understanding, collaboration and bonding among these students. It will provide unique opportunities for student leaders from both countries to foster deep solidarity and produce everlasting friendships among them in a cross-cultural context. 

 

A delegation comprising 20 students aged between 15-16 years old and four chaperones from secondary schools in the country were selected to participate in the 13th Brunei-Singapore Student Leaders Adventure Camp (BSAC) 2019. 

 

Leading the delegation is Awang Haji Metusin bin Haji Jais, Special Grade Education Officer, Department of Schools, Ministry of Education. The delegation will also be joined by Dayang Syahira binti Dato Seri Setia Awang Haji Yusoff, Acting Head of School's Extra Curricular Activity Unit, Department of Schools.

 

Selected students undergo several pre-camp sessions to ensure they are prepared for the camp. The pre-camp sessions were held from 12 to 30 November 2019, with duration of 3 hours per session. These sessions were aimed to bond the students together as a team which were selected from different schools and to prepare them in the areas of social-cultural interaction, confidence-building and leadership training. Students will also be preparing a cultural performance for the camp as part of cultural exchange.

 

Present to bid the delegates farewell at the Brunei International Airport were Awang Abdullah bin Awang Ismail, Acting Senior Special Duties Officer, Department of Schools and officers from Department of Schools as well as families of the delegates.

(BSAC) 2019" DI SINGAPURA

Isnin, 2 Disember 2019 – Program 'Brunei-Singapore Student Leaders Adventure Camp' akan diadakan bermula pada 2 hingga 6 Disember 2019 bertempat di tapak perkhemahan 'Dairy Farm Outdoor Adventure Learning Center', Singapura. Program ini merupakan anjuran bersama Kementerian Pendidikan Negara Brunei Darussalam dan Kementerian Pendidikan Singapura. Tahun ini merupakan kali ke-13 program ini dijalankan dan Kementerian Pendidikan Singapura selaku tuan rumah.

 

Program ini bertujuan untuk membentuk bakal pemimpin melalui aktiviti komunal dan pengalaman yang melibatkan pengembaraan serta perkongsian rentas budaya. Program ini juga berhasrat untuk mempromosikan persefahaman, kerjasama dan hubungan antara pelajar-pelajar Brunei Darussalam dan Singapura. Program ini juga akan dapat memupuk perpaduan dan persahabatan yang berkekalan di kalangan peserta.

 

Seramai 20 orang pelajar dari sekolah menengah dan maktab kerajaan seluruh negara yang berumur di antara 15-16 tahun, bersama 4 guru pengawas mengikuti perkhemahan ini. 

 

Rombongan berkenaan diketuai oleh Awang Haji Metusin bin Haji Jais, Pegawai Pendidikan Tingkat Khas, Jabatan Sekolah-Sekolah, Kementerian Pendidikan. Turut serta rombongan berkenaan adalah Dayang Syahira binti Dato Seri Setia Awang Haji Yusoff, Pemangku Ketua Unit Kegiatan Luar Sekolah, Jabatan Sekolah-Sekolah.

 

Pelajar yang terpilih telah menjalani sesi latihan bermula pada 12 hingga 30 November 2019 sebagai persediaan awal bagi program ini. Sesi latihan ini memfokuskan kepada pembentukan keterampilan diri, daya saing semangat juang, kreatif dan inovatif dalam menghadapi pelbagai cabaran hidup. Selain itu, para pelajar juga didedahkan kepada pembangunan sikap bertolenransi, kerjasama, tolong-menolong dan sentiasa bermuafakat dalam segala perkara. Pelajar juga telah diberikan latihan khusus untuk membuat persembahan kebudayaan Negara Brunei Darussalam semasa di Singapura nanti.

 

Hadir di Lapangan Terbang Antarabangsa Brunei bagi mengucapkan selamat jalan ialah Yang Mulia Awang Abdullah bin Awang Ismail, Pemangku Pegawai Tugas-Tugas Khas Kanan, Jabatan Sekolah-Sekolah dan pegawai-pegawai dari Jabatan Sekolah-Sekolah serta ahli keluarga delegasi Brunei Darussalam.
