Special Needs Students Received Learning Aids and Resources from JIS

Earlier in the year, the Junior School at Jerudong International School (JIS) held a special fundraising week to raise money for children with special needs in Brunei. The Junior School students participated in a variety of activities throughout that week and the children and families of the Junior Shool raised $8,800 in total.
With the money raised in school and in consultation with Special Needs Unit, JIS' Junior School are able to present some children with equipment to help them with their learning and mobility.
The Junior School council from JIS attended a handling over ceremony at Katok A Primary School at which 17 children were presented with special equipment and learning resources.
In attendance from the Ministry of Education as the guest of honour was Dayang Hajah Anis Faudzulani binti Haji Dzulkiflee, Acting Director General of Education. Also attending was Cikgu Ali Yusri bin Abdul Ghafor, Acting Head of Special Education Unit as the Chairperson of IKHLAS Pendidikan Khas and officers from SEU. In attendance from JIS was Paul Bannister, Head of Junior School, together with other staff and student from JIS.
