Fatal Shooting Incidents at Two Mosques in Christchurch, New Zealand

MINISTRY OF EDUCATION, FRIDAY, 15 MAC 2019 - Following the fatal shooting incidents on 15 March 2019 at two mosques in Christchurch, New Zealand, the Ministry of Education has given due attention to ensure the safety of Brunei students studying in New Zealand especially those studying in city concerned.
 
Three scholarship students are currently studying in Christchurch. The Scholarship Division, Ministry of Education through its Education Attache in Canberra, Australia has confirmed that the students were not involved or present at either mosques during the time of the incidents and has ascertained their whereabouts and safety.
 
The Ministry of Education also calls on private students who are studying in New Zealand and / or their parents / guardians to urgently report their whereabouts to the Education Attache in Canberra, Australia through one of the following channels:

KEMENTERIAN PENDIDIKAN, JUMAAT, 15 MAC 2019 – Berikutan kejadian tembakan pada 15 Mac 2019 di dua buah masjid di Christchurch, New Zealand yang menyebabkan kehilangan jiwa, Kementerian Pendidikan turut memberi perhatian dan mengambil berat terhadap keadaan keselamatan para pelajar Negara Brunei Darussalam yang belajar di New Zealand khasnya yang menuntut di Christchurch.
 
Seramai 3 orang pelajar biasiswa negara ini sedang menuntut di bandar raya berkenaan. Pihak Bahagian Biasiswa, Kementerian Pendidikan melalui Ataci Pendidikan di Canberra, Australia telah mengesahkan bahawa pelajar-pelajar berkenaan adalah tidak terlibat dan tidak berada di masjid-masjid yang terbabit semasa insiden tersebut. Keberadaan mereka telah dikenalpasti dan adalah dalam keadaan selamat.
 
Dalam hubungan ini, Kementerian Pendidikan juga menyarankan para pelajar persendirian yang menuntut di Negara berkenaan dan / atau ibu-bapa / penjaga mereka untuk melaporkan keberadaan mereka ke pihak Ataci Pendidikan di Canberra, Australia dengan seberapa segera bagi sebarang keperluan keselamatan dan perhubungan.
